Samsung Gear S2 weather app showing incorrect language on watch and companion app

Help!

I purchased a Samsung Galaxy Gear S2 classic, and after waiting ages, it finally got delivered today. I then proceeded to pair it with my HTC One M9, which went without a hitch. In short, everything works...
....But not the weather app.

When i tap "add city" on the weather widget, it tells me to search using my phone. That's fine, but when i have entered my city (Tauranga), it appears as TAURANGAHARBOUR. Ok, that's a bit odd, as it is all in capitals and has no spaces, but what's wrong with that? I tap on it, to set it as my current location, and bam, it goes to some chinese text i cannot read when it sets it as my location. When i go to the weather widget on my Gear S2, it too is in chinese, for the name of my location.

I don't know what is wrong. I have looked everywhere and canot find this problem.

Android MS Outlook notifications stopped showing up on Wear.

I've been using Outlook on my Galaxy S5 for a while now and was getting email notification on my watch (Moto 360 2nd gen) without difficult. Then I just stopped getting email notifications. I appear to still be getting calendar notifications, but not email.

I did two things around the time when the notifications stopped:
1.) Installed an app on my phone create extra vibrations on the watch when notifications were received (Feel the Wear).
2.) Setup the default sammy calendar to sync with my work's Exchange calendar so I could get calendar info in WatchMaker.

To trouble shoot I've tried:
a.) Uninstalling the app listed above and removing the calendar sync setup.
b.) Uninstalling and re-installing MS Outlook
c.) Verifying that Outlook is not listed as a block/ignore app in Android Wear
d.) Forgetting and reconnecting my watch
e.) Verified that I'm getting outlook notifications properly on my phone.
f.) Searching google and xda... couldn't find anything, but I'll admit I didn't do a super huge search here in xda.

Anyone have any ideas? I'm working around this right now by using eNotify, but I hate to use additional programs to do something that I should be able to do without them.

Contacts not Showing in Text and Phone Apps

The title says it all.
Contacts are on the phone and in Google.
The dialer app does not match incoming number to name in contacts.
I have this same behavior in every other app that would match a name to number.
This includes text messaging apps.

Anyone else see this??

Figured it out - S2 Step Count showing in Google Fit, MyFitnessPal, etc.

Not a fan of S Health because it's reporting views are pretty poor. If you want to record nutrition, you can really only view calorie intake, not actual nutrition (eg. sugar, carbs, protein, etc). I prefer to have a central hub for fitness information and was using MFP when I was wearing my Fitbit because it integrates with Fitbit, Endomondo, etc. I played around with S Health SDK and data viewer to see if I could code a plugin to view that data in S Health, but no go (and no Strava or Endomondo integration anyway). Not interested in Lifesum and the need to buy a premium subscription to make it remotely useful.

Finally, I figured out a way of getting S2 step count data into MFP (and therefore facilitating integration with Endomond, Strava, etc) and probably Fitbit as well.

It's kludgy, but it works:

1. Install Withings HealthMate.


2. Open S Health and under More/Settings/Data Permissions, turn on Withings and enable Step Count. Withings will now read and record your S2 Step Count from S Health.


3. Install Google Fit.


4. Scroll down to Connected Apps and Goolge Fit Apps & Devices, connect Withings to Google Fit. Gootle Fit can now read and record your step count from Withings.


5. Install MyFitnessPal and then scroll to Steps. Under Steps, select "Android" as your device and MFP will now read Step count from Google Fit.

In theory, Google Fit shouldn't be necessary as MFP claims to support Withings integration. I have not been able to get that to work because I think it requires an actual Withings device. Since MFP has the widest scope of integration, you should then be able to use your S2 step count with the long list of MFP compatible apps and devices including Strava, Endomondo, UA Record, etc.

Mods, I know I started a new thread for this and there are others complaining about lack of integration ... wanted to put the solution in one place for reference. If it should be somewhere else, please move it.
