[Q] LTE not working on kindle fire HD 8.9 (JEMLTE)

Hi
I was using my kindle with its stock rom and cellular networks was working without problems .

then i installed cm 12 (after changing the bootloader and installing TWRP recovery) and i didn't see the Mobile Network option
inside my settings .

i checked it back and discovered that it was for wifi only version then i found liquid smooth 3.2 for the lte version, installed it and it was showing no sim indicator .

i didn't take any backups for the system, recovery, boot img files

I returned to stock using the files(system, recovery, boot) uploaded in this guide :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2011126
and cmd commads mentioned in this thread :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2761560

and am back to stock now but the no sim problem still remains .

Kindle fire HDX 8.9 (Saturn) got updated to 5.0.0 and then to 5.1.1 todayy

updated to fire os 5 and followed quickly to updating to 5.1.1.1 today
this is a saturn 8.9 hdx i tried the http://forum.xda-developers.com/amaz.../root-t3272362
root method for 5.1.1.1 but this command
fastboot oem append-cmdline "androidboot.unlocked_kernel=true"
came as invalid command for me so the boot loaders are still configured differently for the new hd6 and the older hdx because we don't have this cmdline parameter

Disable kindle fire 5th gen lock screen.

Hey folks,

Bought the fire as a test device for some home automation stuff.
Have one issue - how do I disable the lock screen.
I intend to use the device as an Inwall switch for home automation stuff,
The device is rooted (great supertool from rootjunky) and I've setup tasker and motion detector to turn on the screen from camera motion.. But I need it to not go to the lock screen.

Any advice would be appreciated

P.s I've tried to use "no lock" app but when I move it from data/apps to system/apps (and change permissions etc) it disappears from the device homescreen.

Cheers RO-fu

How to Place a Shortcut to your Kindle Book Library on Alternate Launchers Easy Way

I am on Kindle Fire HDX 7 inch stock rom 4.5.5.1 I use buzz launcher and buzz widget which btw works nice for wallpaper and widgets on stock, I don't know if this will work for all alternate launchers but it should.

Install QuickShortcutMaker by sika524

I got it off Google play then transferred it to my kindle.

Scroll to

com.amazon.kindle/com.amazon.kcp.library.tabletlibraryactivity

Click on it and then at the bottom of the screen click create and then home screen to place the shortcut.
