[APP][ROOT] DoubleTap2Wake for Nexus 6P - works on ANY ROM/KERNEL!

Hey people!

I made a really small and simple app for the Nexus 6P which lets you enable DT2W on any ROM and any kernel (I hope :p)

Features:
  • Extremely simple, clean, Material UI

  • Automatically set DT2W on boot (PRO)

  • Lightweight (~80 KB)

Root access is needed.

Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...kdb.anglerdt2w

NOTE:
  1. The XDA link is currently not functional, as I created the app before this thread. Will be fixed in an update shortly.

  2. If you can't see the app on Play Store, you might have to wait 1-2 hours, as it's fresh out of the Beta channel and will take some time to move to the Prod channel

Nexus 6, Deleted System Partition- Cannot Recover

The system partition was deleted and the phone has TWRP. The mac recognizes the ADB device and the MTP. Tried toggling the MTP, no success. Currently android file transfer fails every time due to a missing MD5 file in the android 6.0.1 zip, although all that is being attempted is a drag and drop. ADB sideload says it has completed but no files appear on the phone to flash, or in the file explorer, and so does ADB push. Tried re-downloading the rom, rebooting the phone and everything else.

Any help is appreciated.

New Nexus 6 camera wont focus

So I just received my new nexus 6 in the mail from a deal I got on amazon, I spent some time getting it unlocked and rooted and was just about to go down to AT&T to get a new sim card for it when I tested out the camera app. Now I know the camera in this phone isn't supposed to be great but everyone said its a great deal better than the nexus 5. The problem is mine wont focus at ALL. I cant figure out what is wrong, I didn't flash any custom roms yet nor have I downloaded any special apps. I just cant get it to focus at any distance on pictures. Does anyone know anything that could help?

Nexus 5 lock screen questions

Hi guys,

I have Resurrection Remix 6.0.1 installed on my Nexus 5 and have everything set to my liking except I have 2 issues with the stock lockscreen.

Firstly the audio visualizer for music on the lock screen has stopped working for some reason even though in both Settings > Lockscreen and Settings > Configurations> Lockscreen I have " Display Music Visualizer" checked but when on the lockscreen I still have no Visualizer when playing music and on the lockscreen. I'm not to sure if I'm missing something but its not working and I haven't messed with anything to make it stop working.

The other thing I have would be not really an issue but just a question for tweaking the lockscreen. I was wondering if I could remove the Navigation Bar Shading on the bottom of the screen when music's not playing. When the music is playing there is no shading so I'm not all that sure what to to about it. Any help would be appreciated! Thx

Here's some screenshots:

[GUIDE] Nexus 6P Systemless Root + Xposed + Snapchat + Snapprefs (but no Android Pay)

Disclaimer: I am not a developer. I am posting this to help others who are trying to achieve the same results. I wasted a few hours of time trying various sequences of installation, different files, etc., until i finally got it right. Posting this up so it hopefully helps someone else!

Various problems I was running into:
  • Camera would stop working (any app) and show only the bottom buttons, a black screen and a camera icon in the middle.

  • Snapchat wouldn't let me login.

  • Snapprefs wouldn't work.

  • Android Pay wouldn't work. (Heads up: [URL="http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64367735&postcount=61"]you cannot have Xposed and Android Pay both working/URL]...it's not possible as of 2016/01/29. Once it is, and I test it myself, I'll update this thread.)

Here are the steps I took to get the phone Systemless rooted, get Xposed functioning, and then get SnapPrefs working (but no Android Pay).

Note: I am not providing step-by-step detailed instructions -- these are more of the general process. Make sure to read all of the information from the sources I reference.
Disclaimer: This worked for me, but I cannot guarantee this will work for everyone. I am not responsible for anything that happens to your phone if you try to repeat these steps. Also, this probably voids your warranty.

Hat tip to the following threads for information on the various stages of the process, developers for their hard work, and everyone else who has put up any info about this subject!
Files Used:
Steps I took (NOTE: Do not allow TWRP to install root when it asks, "Install SuperSU now?" when exiting Recovery. Always click "Do not install."):
  1. Optional: Flash the latest official system image from Google (MMB29P). I did because I had trouble with previous attempts and wanted to start fresh.

  2. Unlock bootloader using Step 1 from this guide.

  3. Download TWRP 2.8.7.0 from above link, then install using Step 2 from this guide.

  4. Optional: Follow Steps 3 - 6 from this guide. You will now have Systemless Root.

  5. Install a file browser (I prefer Astro) then browse-to and install the Snapchat 9.21.1.0 apk. Once it's done, open and log-in to Snapchat. Make sure you are fully logged-in and can view/send snaps.

  6. Use the file browser again to browse-to and install Xposed 3.0 Alpha apk. Once it's done, open it, go to Settings and change Installation mode to "Recovery (flash zip automatically)".

  7. Open SuperSU, go to Settings, and check the box next to "Enable su during boot" (if you don't do this, when you reboot, NFC service will enter a neverending crash loop).

  8. Reboot into Recovery, install Xposed Framework v79 SDK23 for ARM64, reboot. (Remember: click "Do not install," when prompted to install SuperSU.)

  9. Once rebooted, open Xposed search-for and download Snapprefs 1.6.5. After installed, enable the Snapprefs module in Xposed, then reboot.

  10. Once rebooted, open Snapprefs and customize your settings. Set your save location, etc.

  11. That's it. You should now have functioning root, functioning Xposed, logged-in Snapchat, and functioning Snapprefs.

I know some people are going to say, "It's pointless to do Systemless root since Xposed modifies /system and breaks Android Pay," but the reason I went this route is because I normal rooting kept breaking my Camera (in any app). Maybe in the future there might be some way to keep Android Pay functioning and run Xposed modules without modifying /system...who knows.

Should I exchange my Nexus?

Short and simple. I ordered from best buy, so I have a two week window to make sure I'm happy with my unit. The phone is doing two things that are bothering me.

1. Battery drain while idle. I was under the impression this phone was supposed to be a champ here. However, last two nights have shown otherwise. Last night after only 6 hours of sleep the phone went from 100 > 77. A significant decrease in performance over my note 4. The night before wasn't as severe, but no apps running, and nothing under battery management to notice. I should note that my drain while in use meets or exceeds my expectations.

2. Do not disturb. I swear last night, I set my alarm and noticed this feature was on, promptly turned it off, and went to bed. It was on again this morning. I HATE dnd features, never will I want to miss notifications in purpose, I'd turn my fracking phone off, or notification sound to silent. This turning on by itself is not going to work. Seems to turn on when I set my nighttime alarm.

Do I exchange or deal with it?

[Help] Rooted Nexus 6p reboot randomly 2-5 times a day and lost battery

I have a Nexus 6p rooted and xposed-installed. I also did some small tweaks. After a few days, I start to get random reboot 2-5 times. And every time after the reboot, I lost ~5% battery.

I installed catlog and located the "moment", but I'm not able to "decipher" the logs, I guest sth to do with xposed? or not? Please help me a bit. It's really annoying.

Nexus 5 hangs by pressing back on whatsapp media

BTW, this problem also happened to me with stock everything, no root, no kernel, no nothing (except oem unlock).

Sometimes (not everytime, but a lot of times, so it´s bothering) when I click a media (photo or video) in whatsapp, and I press the back button, whatsapp freezes for about 30 seconds, I can pull the drawer and use the phone normally, but if I try to use whatsapp, it just hangs there and eventually comes back. This started happening with Lollipop and older versions of whatsapp, but it´s still bothering me even after a clean flash and Im now on 6.01 with Elemental X 6.11 on my Nexus 5. I´ve tried diferent default media players but same thing happens. I contact whatsapp and at first they blamed my phone being modified (rooted), but it happened after a clean stock flash also. Please can anyone help me diagnose this?

I saved a video of the problem so you can see what I mean: https://plus.google.com/+Tarc%C3%ADs...ts/2fum2Nd2RY5

Nexus 9 apps constantly crashing please help

Hello
So I recently purchased a nexus 9 tablet 32 gb with LTE and wifi from somebody off kijiji.

Every time I boot up the device it tells me that "unfortunately google search has stopped working". I can continue to click ok until it lets me go to the main app menu(after about 10-15 times of hitting ok)
I've done countless searches telling me to factory reset it and to clear the app cache of the problem app. When I do clear the app cache more and more apps start crashing to the point where it's unusable. I've done a factory reset to no avail.

Can anyone suggest anything? I'm not an experienced user and I know nothing about changing the operating system or whatever which I've seen is a solution. If someone could post a link to a possible solution that would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
