Help! TWRP recovery and SD card problem.

I just added a new 128gb SD card to my phone.
It recognised it, formatted it, and moved some stuff over after setting up.
This was all done by the system.
The problem is, now in recovery, I can't find my download folder. I don't recognise the folders in recovery when I click install.
I can't find any folders I recognise.
Can someone please help.

Can't acces photo's on locked Galaxy S6

Hello everyone

First of all, i'm dutch so excuse me for any spelling errors etc.
I have a friend who has just had a baby.
She made photos with het Galaxy S6..
But all of a sudden her phone won't recognize her fingers and doesn't unlock.
She also doesn't know her password anymore since she never had to use that again.
I know it is possible to recover the phone but then it will also remove all the photos.
I tried connecting the phone to the computer, it shows a folder named Galaxy S6 but I can't acces it (the phone says unlock phone to view content)
My Question is, does anybody have a workaround? She only wants the photo's once they are back she can reset the phone.
You would really help her out since the baby is born in the 23rd week of pregnancy

Bluetooth "phone media" issue

I just purchased a 6p and love it had about 6 days know. I just came from an HTC one m8 running Android 6.0 pure Android.

I can connect my phone up to my car stereo Bluetooth but only audio and contact sharing shows up. I've connect the 6p to my bt headphones and can receive calls.

My HTC one can make phone calls from my truck. I have deleted the pairing and rebooted the phone and also deleted the pairing from my truck stereo. Rebooted into safe mode and paired with same issue.

Any ideas. I love this phone but this is a must can't go backwards when you buy a new phone.

Charging the S6

So, I drained the battery until the phone turned off and connected it to the oem wallcharger, but i used a monitor to show voltage, current, amps and time. This showed a quite mysterious behavior of the charging process, which lead me to this thread. I'm hoping that someone can explain this.

First of, the phone charges at 9V when plugged in the wall - this is to archieve the so called fast charge. The current is ca. 1,6A. When the phone reaches 50 pct. or so, the current falls quite a bit and even further, as the battery is charged. When charged to aprox. 80 pct., the current is 0,3A +/- (still at 9V). Why does the current have to be so small? I mean, 0,3A is what my headset charges at.

Furthermore: When the phone said 50 pct. charged, my monitor showed that it had only gotten about 800 mA, which is quite weird due to the capacity being 2650 mA. I know that the phone measures the voltage over the battery, but still... It's weird, or?

I'm sorry for the bad english and sorry if this is the wrong forum.

Edit: The image is taken when the phone said 50 pct. charged. As shown, the current has already gone from 1,6A to 1,25A

Hello! i'm only today start read documentation by Xposed modules. And i have question.
For example in class android.os.UserManager has method getMaxSupportedUsers that return int.
Can i with xposed module hook calling of this method and override return value ? For simple, I want that method always returns 6.
Or is it impossible with Xposed?

Downgrade to Lollipop from Marshmallow

Is there way to downgrade my system to Lollipop from Marshmallow if I installed it through OTA? I am too tired of this bugs. Even after few hard resets there are lags in any browser except Google Chrome Beta, 3D games are very laggy with a strong sound breaking up (for example Grim Fandango and Game of Thrones imposssible to play) and I have a problem with Caller ID. I can't see names of people who stored in my contacts base with international phone number. Only regional. Lollipop worked as a charm. Thanks in advance.

A kernel for CM13 which supports MultiROM?

Hello everybody, I searched a bit in the various sections of the forum, but I didn't find anything special. I'm on Slimsaber with Android Marshmallow 6.0 and I need a kernel which supports MultiROM. Does this exist? I tried latest Boeffla for CM13 but I didn't find anything about MultiRom, and it doesn't work since the multirom menu doesn't show up at boot. Does anyone have an idea?

Hi, i have a samsung galaxy grand prime Version 5.1.1, SM-G530W, Kernel version 3.10.49-5204010 Build number LMY47X.G530WVLU1AOFB I am new to this and recentely took the easy way and rooted my phone with kingroot, after i rooted everything was fine until i rebooted and it said i had a Custom binary block by FRP, so i quickly took care of the problem in kies on my computer and restored the phone. However this has left me wondering if rooting your phone with kingroot is like a soft root? similliar to a teathered jailbreak where if you restart the phone, you will lose the jailbreak and in this case you will lose the root. Is this true? Since i have done this i have rooted my phone again using kingroot and now i am nervous to restart my phone. Somebody please help lol :)

What Head Unit?

I am new to this forum and have been reading for the last 4 hours but can't seem to zero in on which unit to purchase. I am installing this in my motorhome for navigation, radio, OBD Torque, and bluetooth. I don't need DVD and would like to avoid it possible.

I would obviously like the most powerful unit with the most memory. I was looking at the Newsy NR-3001 as it seems to have the most support. Is that correct?

If t's not what do you recommend? Which one has the best radio chip?

I have always seen reviews of the HTC One M9 before I am honored to get such an awesome device in my hands, and they were a bit off, and in my opinion, a bit misleading too. Even Anandtech was a bit unfair towards the M9 when it was launched even though they are admitting that the M9 is one of the best implementations of the controversial Snapdragon 810 now. That put off some of the fire and hatred I had in my heart towards the misleading press reviews, but there has always been one thing that made me mad, comparing the major updates, where HTC really done a great job to say the least. From Android 5.0.2 to 5.1 was a revolution, and from Android 5.1 to Android 6.0 is a total revelation! So let's keep it to that and dig in the new sweet ;)

TWRP issues ?

TWRP in general for me has been a mixed bag. I remember using it back when I had my Galaxy S4, and it had problems making nandroids for Touchwiz, but not CM. Typically there was a problem with the kernel. Lately with my Nexus 6 periodically it will either freeze/stall. Tonight I created a nandroid and for whatever reason when I was trying to restore it, it showed it was restored then when I tried to reboot system, the phone rebooted into bootloader mode. I could not reboot the phone it just kept cycling into bootloader mode no matter what I did.

I did not have internet, all I had was a copy of the most recent TWRP and a custom ROM zip. I recommend always keeping a copy of these files. At any rate, there's something wrong with TWRP. Initially I went into fastboot and just re-flashed TWRP. Still had problems. Then I used fastboot to erase recovery, then reflash via fastboot the copy I had then used adb pull to pull in the custom ROM into the sdcard and started up.

I still don't know what happened, but clearly there was an issue with TWRP. I may have been able to recover using the toolkit although I didn't have internet, but for those who just use the toolkit, there's definitely merit to knowing the fastboot commands and using adb pull/push.

hi guys,
i recently tried to install a recovery .img using mtk tools on my karbonn a11*.
when i went to install it went to the recovery mode where i had to go to the install update from sdcard but surprisingly i fond nothing it showed me like this \..... when i further pressed enter it went back to the main menu. i tried rebooting but it did not
the logo came after that it got stuck . so i tried to install recovery.img via adb but it said error closed . i would really appreciate if anyone helps me fix this situation

Two Usb devices otg ??

Hi guys,

i've got the 32gb version and a lot of flac files:D
plus i'd want to connect a dac to play my flacs
now i'd like to know if this is possible :

usb split or usb hub
on one side have a usb thumb drive with my music and on other side my dac bypassing internal dac

would this work ? is the nexus 6p capable of "juicing" two devices without the hub needing to be powered ? don't want powered solution for portability

Decrypting ES explorer files - task failed

I am using software es file explorer in my Android phone. it can encode (encrypt) any file, image or videos in this software by a password. Recently i updated my explorer and also the ROM of my Moto E and after that whenever i try to decrypt the video files, it says "task failed".

tecno h5 automatically booting into boot mode

please moderators..I have a tecno h5 that automatically boots into boot mode displaying boot selector options like fastboot, recovery, power down. but none of the options seems to work as the keys are unresponsive even after pressing the corresponding volume down button for each option. I've tried flashing with sp flash tool several times and after each successful flash, there ain't seem to be any slightest impact on these phones. when i format the whole bootloader option in format section, the phone doesn't power on and after re-flashing with a different bootloader gotten from a different h5, the issue keys reiterating. I'm kinda fed up now! any help please?...

#Screen takes 60+ % of battry😡

I think I am the only one whose half, more than half battery drains by #screen only😐😐 I have googled many times and applied all those tips but didnt work :( I use my phone in 0 brightness and the screen timeout is also 5 sec and even in reading mode. But battry drains so fast, It decreases #2% of charge in #3 minutes. Please help me to fix this.. PH Model: I9505 XXUGNH6!

Receiving ads in notification bar in Micromax Canvas Spark

I bought Micromax Canvas Spark q380 2 days back and have either uninstalled or disabled most of useless apps that were pre-installed in it. I have updated most of Google related apps and have not installed any other 3rd party apps. Only Clean Master was manually updated (ie not through Play Store but getting installed/updated itself)

Now whenever I connect to internet then I am receiving ads in notification bar to install apps.

Any ideas which adware/malware this Micromax people have installed?!

Or how to stop these ads or uninstall the specific app causing this?

Is there a way to block apps from accessing internet in Lollipop?

I did some research on internet and most of the articles related to this topic are either outdated or suggests using some kind of another app.

I want to block internet access to apps I've installed without installing any other app or firewall. I was wondering whether there are any inbuilt settings in Lollipop which has this feature?

Basically I am worried that apps like Clean Master, etc. would be snooping around my msgs, contacts lists, pics and sending them to their servers.

My G3 dies just weeks before G5 release.

Such a bad news. My G3 855 finally dies a silent death just weeks before G5 is expected to be announce. After updating to excellent MM30b and invested in a new battery I was finally getting consistent 4+ SOT and quite happy.

Also I didn't mentioned my backup G2 died a month earlier. Leaving me without any phone.

Good bye G2/G3, its been a good runs.

Data Sanitizer is simple data remanence wiping tool, it ensures that no data can be recovered.
Started as a fun project when I wanted to sell my phone, then I decided to slap some UI on it and publish it on Google Play :D

The app is pretty simple and straight forward, it detects how much free storage you have and then wipes any traces of data in it so nothing can be recovered. The app implements the GOST R 50739-95 data wiping method.

Any reviews/suggestions are appreciated :)

Issue making preloader.bin backup/dump of MT6592M

Good PM.

i have an MT6592M device with Android 5.1 kernel 3.10.72. im having problems making a full backup or dump of my rom. i have created readback from sp flash tools but its not creating preloader.bin. i makes the other necessary files when processed in mtkdroidtools > "to process the file ROM_ from spflashtool" option but there is no preloader.bin. the files seems to work fine since i tried it couple of times reflashing to my device. i tried to root my phone, checked that its been properly rooted, installed busybox and use mtkdroidtool's backup function and it fails at making preloader_and_dsp and wont backup the partitions aside from /system and /nvram, error msg says : "ERROR : Zero file, no space left on device!" and looking for answers there seems to be no method that worked in my case.

so i use readback to manually dump the preloader.bin address and using hex editor to view, it doesn't seem right since the header is wrong and its starting with EMMC_BOOT. i don't think i can reflash this preloader.bin file in case i will have issue with my device, right?

so, i need help if there are other ways to backup mediatek roms, or dump only the preloader.bin and make it flashable with spflashtools or anyone who can clean-up the dump i made and make it right for flashing back.

Acer Iconia 8 One B1-830 shutting down

My Acer tab 8 keep shutting down when playing games 5-15mins or more it looks like the battery is overheating when unplugged. But when I play with the charger plugged it doesn't shutdown. What seems to be the problem? :( I just have this tab more than a week.

Help on s6 FRP bypass

I forgot my Google password andi reset my phone so now I can't get through the phones gmail login and I can't use it. I saw videos where I can use an otg cable but it didn't work because it wasn't going into the file browser so I can't install the app that bypasses it. Also is there any way I can do it using my computer and adb commands or whatever they're called. If I can't fix it my self should I take the phone to T-Mobile I bought the phone this month and I think they should be able to fix it or replace/exchange it.

Remix OS......very disappointing

Good day everyone,

I have installed the Remix OS, the installation was straight forward no tricks, but the most disappointing is after that:

* alot of not responding on every thing ( maybe because i use a USB 2 drive)
* install the Play store & google service but unable to download any app, the play store works well till the download part, error appear & not download.
*try install program by download apk from other sites, install complete but apps not working (it flash up & close )
*try all possible solution i found over the net by clearing cache of google service & play store & download, but nothing, try several restarts, try reset the system, even i try install again & on other flash drive, but nothing, try to remove the account , try to check google service update, problem still the same.

Now i stuck with the operating system & no google play & no apps working.

Using Bluetooth to share files?

I'm curious, I tried sharing a zip file on my nexus 6p via Bluetooth to the shield TV, and even after having already paired the two devices from within settings, it refuses to recognize the shield. This happens with anything I try to share via Bluetooth, like photos or bookmarks or anything.
I have other ways to copy over files, plenty actually, but I just thought this should be another way I could send a file over to the shield and yet it didn't work. Anyone know more about this?

Why are there so many duplicates on my phone after using Link2SD

I have noticed that the internal storage of my tablet is filling up even though I have tried to link as many of the apps as possible to the SD card using Link2sd. I did a quick search for duplicates using Search Duplicate File(Super). What I found was that 1117 files where duplicated in both the /mnt/internal_sd/ and /mnt/external_sd directories. Any idea why this has happened, and how I can free up this space?

I have searched both paths and none of them are symbolic links to the other. These are actual duplicates of the files.

ubuntu on mx4

Hello,
I have a few questions about ubuntu touch. I have an MX4 with flyme.
1. Are there native apps for facebook and youtube, i mainly use them;
2. How is battery life compared to android;
3. Can I export from google account my contacts and import them to ubuntu one.
4. I have Meizu MX4 with flyme, currently 4.5.7.1A. How could I install ubuntu touch.
5. If I decide later, how could I roll back to flyme(android).

Help- Not able to sucessfully recompile samsungcamera apk

Hi.
I extracted samsungcamera from qsrom 4.4.2 i9300 nl1, and decompiled it using apktool.
then I modified smali files and replaced
"com.sec.android.gallery3d" to "com.alensw.PicFolder"
"com.sec.android.gallery3d.app.Gallery" to "com.alensw.PicFolder.GalleryActivity"

but after recompiling it with some error I got new modified class ,resourceses, and other xmls,
then I opened original samsungcamera.apk and replaced inside with new class, recources and xmls, and then pushed new samsungcamera.apk in system app gave proper permissions , installed quickpic and restarted,
after restart camera icon shows in app drawer but when opened it force-closes.

if someone with knowledge could could modify samsungcamera the it would be great help, ThankYou

Battery discharges while charging

Yea, so I got galaxy s2 for about 2 years. I have some problems before so I have to fix it. I got my new battery for about half a year and replaced my usb board for about a month. I got this problem. Even tho it is charging, it still discharges. My phone battery % is 35 and after an hour, the battery percentage became 31%.

any help in this problem guys??

About 5.1 update for M4 Aqua

After seeing Xperia C4,Xperia C5 Ultra and now Xperia M5 got android 5.1 update out of the nowhere should we expect it on M4 soon?
Those phones should skip 5.1 and go directly ti 6.0 but Sony changed their minds...

So there you go! The bootloader uses OpenSSL to check the partition against two DER format certificates. Ignore the LZMA header for now; binwalk thinks almost everything is LZMA compressed.
